Um, forgive me but I recently updated to 11.01 for the demo and did nothing for my 10.4 update. But the strangest thing happens to both, I have crackle/pops when starting reason on both all of the sudden.
I know what I'm saying is vague, but its' really present (much of the time) and it make no sense
I'm not expecting anyone to have an explanation, but just in case I'm not the only one, what say you? (Err, ah, never been a problem before? ) ......
Weird crackle issue............

Oh, and it goes away if it's open long enough. Sorry for the strange thread, but on the off-chance someone else has had this...........

Not me. Have you tried turning Hyperthreading on/off? Anyway, maybe report it as a bug - perhaps you're on to something.
Win 10 | Ableton Live 11 Suite | Reason 12 | i7 3770k @ 3.5 Ghz | 16 GB RAM | RME Babyface Pro | Akai MPC Live 2 & Akai Force | Roland System 8, MX1, TB3 | Dreadbox Typhon | Korg Minilogue XD
I had kind of the same issue out of the sudden since 2 days and with ASIO driver only.
And it turned out that the most recent big Windows 10 update resetted my Power and Energy save Settings to balanced.
Switching that back to High Performance solved the issue.

That stupid accumulative update totally screwed up my internet connection yesterday. Microsoft??? Man!!!!!

It took me one day to find the root cause since - by incident - I had bought a new audio interface two days ago and thought it is the ASIO driver of the new interface. When I reconnected my old interface I had the same issues so I could exclude this as a cause. Then I blamed Reason to have an issue with the Windows update. And after some checking of my Windows settings I suddenly noticed that the power/energy settings had changed. I almost went crazy since everything had been fine some days ago.

Yeah, I thought about that first away. But it says I'm still in "high performance"
I wonder if I kicked the tires on that for a while where I go to something silly, then go back to HP if it would work.

Mine too. LSS, updated my demo to 11.01, started happening in 11. 10 was fine. Then later 11.01 was fine. Decided against 11 so deleted it and now 10 does this. And when I let Reason stay running for about 30 minutes, it went away
Thanks for all the answers everyone.

Reason removed the "computer too slow" msg in 10.4, was it? So, if a background process is using resources then there might not be enough DSP available to process w/o crackle. I had my 10.4 crackling yesterday but was below 50% on the Reason DSP meter, killed a bunch of other programs that seem to take intermittent resources and it was better. So maybe check that too if it crackles.

Yeah, thanks. That's my guess is that there is a service that is interfering.

Loque found this thread. Mods, please merge or lock the other one?
Ok, so it's back. I started another thread because I couldn't find this one (for whatever reason )
The internet or networking is NOT the problem. It's really intermittent, today it's been really bad.
