As long as the Beta testers are fully paid, not simply used as free volunteers.

Not Beta related, but wasn't there a time when the Reason trial period was unlimited, but you couldn't save or re-open tracks after 30 days ?

I think the demo mode works like this (you can save, but you can't open your files).

It would be great for customers who own a paid version of Reason, like bxbrkrz said.
There is a downside in case of reason 11 and 10.4... the project files are not backward compatible.
So if Reasonstudios servers went down or in a worst case scenario decide to change/skip your "free online beta licence" your sort of screwed.

That's a ludicrous idea. Why would they give away a DAW with 60+ stock devices and several GB of content ?

What they should, (and may) do in the future is offer a free empty VST rack for Rack Extensions to be hosted in.
