Suddenly a few days ago Reason 9 has stopped working in offline mode, and after trying to authorize via the website it first said I had change my hardware ( seems weird as its the same macbook I have had last time I authorized)
After removing the license from what they thought was a different machine , I am now unable to authorize and just get a message saying "There is a problem with the computer (CM:254).
Please contact support. "
anyone else had this problem?

This is a problem with CodeMeter (Ignition Key). There was a custom kernel extension released to fix that when Sierra or High Sierra came out, but officially support for CodeMeter has been dropped because of OS compatibility issues.
There should be a newer version of Authorizer out that doesn't require the Ignition Key to work.

It has worked fine for a few months and I am using Mojave. Where do I get a newer version of Authorizer?
Managed to fix it myself.
I had to install codemeter from https://www.reasonstudios.com/download-codemeter , after this it went back to the original problem of having a different MacBook , but after reporting that as lost it authorised fine.
