Just wondering what people's thoughts are on where they would like Reason to be by say Reason 13?

I personally would like it to be a fully fledged feature rich daw with about 100 features / device updates. The sooner the better.

I'm not asking for this thread to turn into a feature suggestion thread either. If we could just stick to what they'd like the daw to be without it turning into another feature-request thread would be great.

I have done a count btw, I have 100 features I'd like to see. 35 are just midi and audio editing and at least 10 device updates and about 30 workflow so for anyone thinking 100 is a lot, it soon mounts up.

Thanks!

Profitable. As long as they're in the green improvements will come. It's that simple.

The poll options here don't make a lot of sense to me. I expected to have options for a few different directions that Reason's development could take, but instead it seems to be "I want it to be updated a lot", "I want it to be updated a little", or "I don't want any updates at all".

A mobile only platform with a subscription plan where if you unsubscribe they take back the music you've made.
This may not work for everyone.

A subscription based DAW where we can rent to own the use of key signatures in the piano roll al la carte.
50% off the Key of Em since we all know that one make the girls weep instantly.

I find it a bit of an oddly-worded poll.

And having licensed that that key, we're protected from being sued back into the stone age.
Cover me Props, I'm writing one in C major!

I the props ever went out of business I don't know what I would do. Reason is my main workhorse. I want them to increase market share more than anything else.

Long live the Props.

It's not the number of features... It's about the features themselves. Pretty much everything here said on the forum, plus a few unexpected things to make music making easier and quicker.

In two or three years? Cyberneticly in-bedded in my brain so I can just think the music out.

Hmmm... so for the music to come out, would I need to tap a new hole somewhere, or will we be able to use a pre-existing one? 'Cause, i think i can sort of already do that.. :puf_bigsmile:

Same as MannequinRaces I just hope they are still making profit - because from that should come bigger and better things in Reason. I wish they would focus on Reason 100% instead of mobile apps and this and that but that is solely my own wishes.

I don't see why anyone would object to more and better features?

But I hope they also provide a Combinator or Rack VST as an alternative to Rewire.

I kinda assumed option three was reason but with workflow and gui improvements and option 1 was reason plus ableton, studio one and protools all rolled into one super package. I went with three, as I like reason being in its own creative niche but it really does need a good polishing up.

This is what I'm expecting from version 12 tbh. My intuition tells me Reason 12 will be the right one for me

Yes a hundred features at the Propellerhead rate maybe more like 5 years. :D

Well that's what option 4 is for.

Short term, workflow features and improved MIDI. Long term...as I've said in another post I think at some point we've gotta be ready to make some bold leaps in terms of redesign and maybe even backwards compatibility, if it frees PH up to make changes that need to be made.
