Hey gang,

I suppose you all know audio freezers. That kind of effect, that when turned on, freezes 1/4th,1/8th, 1/6th of an audio stream in a rhythmic fashion. (Like various well known VSTs do)

So here's the thing:
Is it possible to freeze a CV signal in a loop as well?
(i.e. when you press a button or generate a signal the CV stream gets "frozen" in a loop. Basically some kind of glitch/rhythm fx for CV instead of audio.)

I hope you know what I mean. Any ideas how to realize this? (I built something like this in Usine Hollyhock and I want to "copy" this in Reason, but
I don't know where to start)

Thanks,
tL.

I love using the Distillery RE by Air Raid Audio for this! Check that out in the shop.

Yeah, I know this one. However, I was asking specifically for a CV Signal Freezer, not an Audio Freezer.. ;)

Probably with this guy. It's a really powerful comparator.

/edit: nvm, this guy is obviously the better choice:

Of course, all the front knobs and buttons can be fully automated inside your song tracks and the Sample and Hold unit can be controlled by a dedicated “Gate” CV. You decide when you want the sampling to take place.

Synchronous has CV inputs with a 'freeze' function. Not sure if this would go some way to what you are trying to achieve. But I can't help thinking there is another RE that can do this in the shop somewhere.

Can capture and loop, with adjustable start and end points. Plus lots more...

If you convert CV to audio, you can use every audio fx with CV signals. After that, convert it back.
