Things have picked up since 9 was released, the company apparently has woken up from their sleep and lots of balls are rolling at the moment with exciting things potentially on the horizon. So I'd really love to see the team, what they're working on (in very, very general terms obviously), what's the atmosphere like, perhaps a new boss saying few words, etc.
Meet the Propellerheads - we "need" a new one :)
I guess it's about time we get a new version of this video:

Dude!? Wait...!? Does that mean, there could have been ReBirth in Reason all the time?Loque wrote: ↑22 May 2019Can you see those devices in the first prototype version? It was before Reason and become ReBirth and it already had cables...

The PC version of Reason had that rebirth input machine. I suspect Rebirth had quite a bit of x86 assembly in it to get it to run fast enough on those sweet 60Mhz pentiums. Reason launched with both x86 and powerpc code.
Right? One of the 303's as an RE, with full cv routings, minus the clunky step sequencer, would be fantastic!Loque wrote: ↑22 May 2019Dude!? Wait...!? Only joining the Reason family in late 2017 I was CONVINCED that at some point in time Rebirth was a part of Reason, until Roland interfered? I really wish Props made some arrangement with them and brought it back, even as a paid RE. I'd spend EUR99 in a heart beat!
I mean if there are products on the market like ABL3 or Phoscyon (and many other), then surely there's some legal way to get this done?
Today i have ABL3. But that extra PCF filter sounded great...antic604 wrote: ↑22 May 2019Only joining the Reason family in late 2017 I was CONVINCED that at some point in time Rebirth was a part of Reason, until Roland interfered? No, it was never a part of Reason ever - except in the sense that you could use the ReBirth Input Machine to ReWire an instance into Reason during those early years. Once 32-bit support was dropped, that stopped (without some workarounds). And then Propellerhead deprecated the product - it had gone through its run and they discontinued it, giving it away for free through the ReBirth Museum website.
Roland gave Props a polite freebie pass when they first released ReBirth back in the late 90's. Back then, Roland was still 100% hardware and to them the 808, 909, and 303 were dead products they hadn't even considered resurrecting. I think the story went somewhere along the line, Roland basically told Props "cool" via fax or some shit (I totally can't remember how the story went).
Fast forward to now, and Roland is clearly 100% behind their own plugins and keeping their proprietary shit close to the chest (see: Roland Cloud). I would wager that it is virtually impossible for Props to negotiate some sort of licensing agreement at this point. And even if it was, would everyone really want Props to shift focus from Reason back to ReBirth, just to port it into Reason or to RE?

the solution for all this is to add vst3 support or au support so we can use the roland cloud in reasonEnochLight wrote: ↑22 May 2019No, it was never a part of Reason ever - except in the sense that you could use the ReBirth Input Machine to ReWire an instance into Reason during those early years. I already do use Roland Cloud with Reason. At least on Windows, it works great.
