Looks like it's time for any Windows 7 users to start thinking about their next update!

I support vendors running Server 2003 on public facing eCommerce sites. It is actually fun and makes us lots of money. Dumbasses.

If Microsoft stops supporting their own OS, then the liability writing is on the wall for third parties to justify full support of their products that are stranded there.

Windows 7 is the best windows I've ever used and I have had almost zero problems with it, so it's me hoping that the Props don't obsolete the support for it. I'm not an expert that what kind of support the Props would even need, by the Microsoft, regarding windows 7 - isn't it already settled?

Win 7 - absolutely the best of the "modern" Windows releases.

"40% of PCs still running it" says it all.

Also still on Win 7, and (metaphorically) you can take it away from me when you pry it from my cold dead clutching fingers... that said, Windows is a dangerous enough environment already, not sure I want to linger too long after it stops receiving security updates... but maybe they'll extend it... ?

This is the extended date. Support was originally scheduled to end on January 13, 2015. They gave it another 5 years, because so many people were still using it. Windows 8 didn't get extended, and is already out of mainstream support.

You can pay for extended support, but it's crazy expensive. Really only for big companies who absolutely depend on a specific version.

What a shame. Windows 7 was the last enjoyable version since XP. 10 is a load of arseballs.

Has there ever been any other software where so many users declined a completely free upgrade to the latest version???

I wish I'd updated to Windows 10 long ago. Since I did that, and added 16gb more memory, my (formerly) creaky Ivy Bridge i5 based machine has new life and Reason (Reaper and SONAR) all run great with zero issues.

Windows 7 was a great release though -- especially following Vista which ranks only ahead of Microsoft Bob in terms of epic corporate fails lol

What Bell are you talking about? I only know of Adobe that no longer supports it.
