Hi gang,
It's me again
In FL Studio we could edit manually knobs/faders and insert manually the values of our choice. I couldn't find that in R10 so my question is it possible to edit and insert values on knobs and faders? Not only that, in FL Studio we could use scroll of the mouse to make the faders go up or down. In R10 I can't also Example below:
Thanks

Can't, unfortunately. I'd like to be able to input values manually as well.

This is heart braking....the most basic functions that other DAW's have. So there is still a lot of work to do for Propellerhead devs. The only solution is to rely on hardware controllers for knobs and faders. Using mouse to control knobs/faders value is a nightmare, the values are jumping or too high or too low, inserting a custom value would be really nice ;/PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑01 Feb 2019Can't, unfortunately. Using shift whilst moving knobs and faders with the mouse gives a lot more precision. It helps a lot, just in case you didn't know that!Molotovbeatz wrote: ↑01 Feb 2019This is heart braking....the most basic functions that other DAW's have. I don't come from other DAWs and would really really really like to be able to do this. What do you find so surprising that people want to be able to have minute precision in Reason, Loque?
Nothing...i am just surprised, that this feature was requested so many times, it seems to be pretty easy to implement and it is still not availablePhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑01 Feb 2019I don't come from other DAWs and would really really really like to be able to do this. Yes, yet on a poll created on this forum a few days ago, that feature had zero votes last I checked. :/

This is a feature we should not need to talk about.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑01 Feb 2019

It's the basic of basics. We are living in a digital world where simple things like that could be controlled by inserting a custom value on one click, later on controlled by any hardware knobs/scrolls/faders. I totally agree with you that it's a feature we should not even need to talk about.
Haha now it has my vote, so no one would say now it has zero votesPhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑01 Feb 2019

I doubt the effectiveness of such polls.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑01 Feb 2019

I hope this feature will be added.
I am picky and so many times I had this kind of situation when you adjust the fader and it jumps from for example 0,00 db to 0,25 db .. or 0,49 db etc ...
So how if the setting I want is 0,37 db ? Oh ok, have to create automation for the fader, then have to figure out which value between 0/1000 is equal to 0,37 db, no no ..
Maybe worst is when try to adjust 'Frequency Filter' hz/khz values.
Seriously I hope this can be improved it must be more precise, the value we decide.

I will create a thread suggestion for this feature and lets hope the devs will be kind enough to give us this optionestuary wrote: ↑02 Feb 2019I hope this feature will be added.

I agree that we need this badly.. especially in the mixing stages..
As you cannot hear those small differences anyway I don't see much gain in having the option to input values. It basically just serves to please some OCD.

I disagree with you, 1 value can make a difference in mixing. And if that was the case as you said then no one would add this option in other DAWs and yet almost every DAW has that possibility.
Can you illustrate that with some screenshot please? or at least the step how to achieve that?

Create automation lane for desired parameter (in my example it's a Mix channel fader), draw a short automation clip and double click it to get access to the static value, which you can change now by typing numbers.Molotovbeatz wrote: ↑02 Feb 2019

The question is - Who cares

You mean new lane on the sequencer and record edit automation, then adjusting the value manually like illustrated in the gif image?Electric-Metal wrote: ↑02 Feb 2019

I was looking for it and I couldn't find what you were talking about, the field where we can put the value. Can you tell me step by step the process please ? Thx

Just create a clip in the automation lane and create a node with the pencil, when a node is selected, the box for entering values shows up.Molotovbeatz wrote: ↑03 Feb 2019You mean new lane on the sequencer and record edit automation, then adjusting the value manually like illustrated in the gif image?Electric-Metal wrote: ↑02 Feb 2019

Yes, that's the way i do it when needed. On the left side is the default value for the automation lane, in the right upper part of the screen the value for the automated dot in the lane. Both typeable. Lot's of switching between mixer en sequencer tho..
