I have a feeling in my bones that the update will be released this week.
I do hope so, as I’ve not been on Reason for a while due to it cracking under the relatively few VST’s I like to run.
Here’s hoping!

They must have rewritten the engine and run into unforeseen problems.
Also, hope they can a hardware plugin device while they're at it.

Tbh I'd rather they just release 10.3 whenever it's ready instead.
Once it's here it is here...forever. Don't rush something if you want it to last forever.

They didn't rewrite the engine, they have to unlock the 64-sample buffer of the vst-wrapper while conversely maintaining it
for all stock and RE devices. That's what is taking them so long.

Guys. when that patch hits...it's here for good.
No need to rush

Would be nice of them to update us on how it is all going instead of not a word for 2 months.

I totally agree, it feels.. empty right now. Like there is this big elephant in the room no one wants to talk about. Understandable though, they won't make the same mistake twice.ProfessaKaos wrote: ↑20 Feb 2019Would be nice of them to update us on how it is all going instead of not a word for 2 months.

Everything is fine guys. My speculated deadline for the release of the beta is not reached yet. So keep calm and be patient. Still 8 days to go...

I believe that this is the exact reason why developers should never indicate unknown release dates or specific road-map items prior to the actual release. Because we as consumers/customers start believing that something should be coming, or that the developer should update us.ProfessaKaos wrote: ↑20 Feb 2019Would be nice of them to update us on how it is all going instead of not a word for 2 months.
It isn't fun for us users, but developers should either never indicate their intentions, or always indicate their progress.

couldn't agree more. it's comical how vocal people get about what they perceive as a company's lack of transparency, when in reality, they just don't want to over-promise and under-deliver. and of course when those loudmouths do manage to tease out a response from said company, and they predictably miss their target, many of those same people use the opportunity to point the finger, and say "see! told you they don't respect their customers!".fotizimo wrote: ↑20 Feb 2019I believe that this is the exact reason why developers should never indicate unknown release dates or specific road-map items prior to the actual release. Props can't win either way. best to just keep their heads down, say nothing, and just do the work.
sad how entitled many of us have become, about the products we buy.

What information would you like to know? We know it's in alpha with the test pilots. Not really sure what status updates besides "here's the beta" would entail...ProfessaKaos wrote: ↑20 Feb 2019Would be nice of them to update us on how it is all going instead of not a word for 2 months.

Well, PH had to say something about an expected update because the comparison with other DAWs got into a tricky situation and frustration. PH had to calm the mob of rumours, or people would drop off from supporting PH and go elsewhere. Hope to see the update in mars.

nah, most Reason users wouldn’t stop using it just because they’re waiting for a particular improvement to come along. there are lots of features that took Props years to finally implement, and they’ve done just fine for themselves.
