Acer Aspire Laptop Windows 10 home
Installed physical memory (ram) 6.00
Total physical memory 4.96
Available physical memory 1.84
Total virtual memory 6.96
Available virtual memory 3.0
With Reason running along with a Chrome Browser/Avast and the task bar:
CPU around 30%
Memory 55%
and DISK around 8%
I just updated to version:
10.2.3d1 (build 9.498)
Right now i got 7 tracks and after a few bars i get::
"Computer is too slow. Please optimize the song"
What can i do?
I am checking out the task bar and i don't see any spikes?
Computer too slow (new user)
First of all, you aren't supposed to have any programs open at all on any machine.
That's just an optional thing.
Your network driver would do more to your asio driver than you think as well
You should save up for a razer laptop in the future if you want "extra" features.

Some things to try:
Set "CPU usage limit" to none in preferences.
Work at 44,100 sample rate.
Increase buffer size to 2048 or 4096 samples
Make sure that your virus software doesn't randomly start scanning when you are working on a project. Personally, I don't use virus software at all as I notice that it slows down my computer. Maybe you can disable it, and any other programs that aren't necessary.

Ok here's what i did and so far it works!!!
Thanks to you guys for your input.
1) I have set the CPU to no limit (on Windows)
2) 44.1 sample rate (in Reason)
3) Increased the buffer size (in Reason)
4) Closed all other application and anything running in the background or standby
5) Shut down my anti-virus (Avast in my case)
I also found that i had a damn Windows update going on. Update 1803 that was causing problems. So it was always downloading/installing/falling. Trying again and again (saw all of the error messages in history)
So i disabled the auto update for now.

Also make sure your laptop is in high performance mode - click on the battery icon and drag the slider to the right.
In Reason's general preferences, make sure to have multicore audio processing on, while hyperthreading off.
