my advice: bounce all tracks in your Ableton song to audio and import the audio files

Wow i'm trying hard as hell to understand how rewire works!

You see, i got 3 midi tracks and 2 audio tracks in Ableton, that i need to transfer in Reason.
Right now, if i press the play button in Ableton, i do hear the song and i do see the track kinda running in Reason (play button is on, cursor is running and it starts at the same point in time).
So i figured that i'd do something very basic which is hit "Record" in Reason.
Of course that didn't make it LOL.

Oh yeah, if i hit the play button in Reason, i do hear the song on Ableton. So i guess i'm getting there?
What shall i do next?

Thanks

Import Midi is also an option to bring the sequences into Reason. That and audio. And yes, as stated before you can Rewire these two programs.

You cannot send audio to the slave in Rewire (in this case, Reason, because that's all it can be), but you can send MIDI both ways. You can record the audio from Reason into Ableton.

If you want to send audio from Ableton to Reason, then unfortunately you have to export the audio from Ableton and import it in Reason.

I suggest you make a template file, one for Reason & one for Ableton. So everything will be setup forever and then you can just enjoy making music with both !

Nope, at least not easily.

The easiest thing to do would be to bounce all of your mixer channels in Live and import those into Reason, then work on it from there. Rewire is an option but, personally, I've never really got on with Rewire, and I much prefer to have everything contained in one project in one program.

In any case, I hope you manage to find a solution that works for you :)

I agree with the audio plan mentioned above--just export the audio tracks and import them into Reason after bouncing within Ableton.
