please fix that annoying thing
double work, if you sample an instrument you can't save it
you must save the samples and do all the work again,
map everything again, very very annoying.
Hi,
no, you don't have to do all the work again. You need to go to File Menu>Song Self-Contain Settings, untick the self-contained samples there, click OK and specify where they should be saved. Then you can save the patch, no remapping required.
The reason for this is that
1. When you sample in Reason, the sample is self-contained in the song.
2. A patch file cannot contain the samples themselves, only references to the samples. And if these samples are self-contained in a Reason song, the patch couldn't be used from any other song.
Fixing this could mean
a) throwing up a Save File dialog when you sample in Reason (so that the sample is stored as an external audio file each time)
b) sampling always creates external audio files in a specific folder
c) samples can be embedded into the patch files themselves
All of these have drawbacks too unfortunately.
Hope this was of some help / LudvigC
