I know that this is possible.
I try to explain it:
I like to work with several racks and label them in different categories.
Melo, Vocels, Drums ...
If I still want to create a vocel track and I open a vocel track in the seqencer I would like to decide immediately that it appears in the vocel rack area.
At the moment it will automatically be attached to the last one.
If I'm in the rack view that's no problem.
Seems like the quickest way to work is to select the desired rack in Rack View, then add the track there or in the sequencer.
If you prefer to stay in Sequence View, just click on the last existing vocal track in the sequencer then "create audio track".
If there is no vocal yet in your song, you can create a song template with a rack "label" RE (like any of the free options including my own Selig ReMark) for each rack, and with a sequencer track for each as well. Then you simply click on those from the sequencer and add a new track and it will be exactly where you want!
This is one of those suggestions that is so specific and "high level", and is already pretty easy to accomplish precisely and logically as is, that it is unlikely you'll see them everything required to make this possible. For example, they would have to not only add a command from the sequencer to choose the rack when dropping or adding (which would possibly be annoying if you didn't need it, and they would also have to add a way to label each rack individually so you can address them by name.
To which I would ask, how this should actually work? When I use "command-T" to create a new audio track from the sequencer, how would I define the destination rack? Would there be a popup that I have to click "ok" on before I could create the track? What if I just want to create a new audio track as before, without having the extra step popup each time? That would require an option in the Prefs or some other way of specifying exactly what you want to do when adding a new track.
