Is there a way to turn off the EASY MIDI function? I'm using Reason as a Rewire slave and Reason keeps playing sounds unrelated to the MIDI routing in my DAW.

I think its in the preferences menu. Go there to the "Control Surfaces" and disable all Input ports under Easy Midi Inputs.
Maybe this solve your problem.

I had a need for this yesterday, and ran into this issue as well. This solution worked.

I can uncheck existing ports, but Reason keeps adding new additional one every time I do. At one point it added over 40 ports and I only have one controller. I have a ticket in to Propellerhead on this topic.

I'd love to know how that goes.

I'm creating with algorithms that use virtual ports between Resolume Avenue, Reason and some MIDI controllers.

Having Reason automatically enable MIDI devices every time I restart the program drives me nuts!

Reason developers should add a "don't use" list.

It is definitely not easy IMO. It is the first place I look when I have something inexplicable going on. Deactivating ports is a slow process as well.

I created a little demo with instructions of using Node.js and to connect Reason Studio to Resolume Avenue.

I use - http://notahat.com/midi_patchbay/ . Still on Mojave though. Never had any issues with IAC.

Sorry to take the thread off course.

Wow this looks interesting!

Just one question though - could this be achieved in Windows?
Thanks for any help...

Yeah, on Catalina here. Probably I upgraded too early :(

I expect it would work fine in Windows.

Just a note if you do use that code, I didn't add expression/aftertouch type events as I didn't need them.

If you get things working otherwise and want help, I'd be happy to add those for you.
