Hi,

i just had an idea for a project. I Want to challenge me to only use the stock devices of a specific Reason Version. The Problem is, i can't find a complete listing for each Version.

My first Challange would be, to make a track with reason 1.0 Devices only.

mabye this is also an idea for the reasonistas page to make a rack with Devices filterd for the specific version.

Any Ideas?

Greetings
Daniel

This might help: https://www.propellerheads.se/de/reason ... newsletter The only thing is it tells you what comes in the next version, would be easier if it simply listed what was in the actual version. I'm sure there is something like that, I saw a website once with a definitive list but I can't find it at the moment.

yeah i didn't know that this page exists in that form. thats at least a start so i can subtract everything that i need to know.

now i can make a favorit list with all the stock devices for each version :)

thanks

I was curious about that history myself, and ended up downloading the whole back catalog of Reason Operation Manuals going back to version 1, from the Props website...

so i managed to build this favorits list and started a song with reason 1 devices. i encourage you all to try something similar yourself. its quiet challenging to achieve some stuff with this limited arsenal.

for example, how do you sidechain without a compressor that has the inputs? i managed this by using a matrix and cv'ing the main vol of a 14:2 mixer. thats something i never thought of before.

this is giving me ideas :)

This is really cool! One of the things I love about Reason is the idea of it forcing you to be creative within a limited environment. This is what I grew up on in Reason v3 through to v5. This is the main reason I've limited myself by disabling VSTs completely in Reason and only using Propellerhead's first party Rack Extensions and ReFills within my setup. I've found it gives me a real focus on composition and creativity, instead of me perpetually feeding a digital equipment lust at the cost of actual productivity.

For Reason 2 though it says detachable windows but shows the Main Mixer in the screenshot. The Main Mixer (SSL9000k emulation) wasn't available till Reason 6 was it?

It also mentions nothing about the Dr.Rex which came before the Dr.Octo.Rex. Was Dr Rex in it from version 1 as nothing seems to be mentioned about what stock devices that were in Reason 1 from that page?

That page was done for 9.5 and it says what you get EXTRA compared to version that you own (that you specify with the slider).

I really wonder why they've not updated it for v10? I've actually sent this link to support a year ago and they were surprised it's still there and how I found it :D

the "iusereason" page from reasonistas as antic mentioned here shows the exact listing for each version. Dr.Rex was in Reason 1.0 Yes.

Amazing.

I've been using Reason since 2.5.

So many devices now compared to back then.
