Defect *solved*: Reason crashes when saving projects

In case it's useful to anyone, I've just found the solution to a severe problem I experienced:

I'm working with Reason on Windows 10 + OSX Sierra 10.12.6 machines, and keeping projects on Onedrive.

Today, I opened a Reason project on my Macbook Pro which I've been previously working with on the Windows 10 machine, and started working with it.
No problem, until I tried to save: Reason crashed and file lost.

In fact, the previous 14 versions of the project wasn't possible to save. Horror.

After spending hours on troubleshooting I found the solution: I went to the Propellerheads shop and resynced all my RE:s. Solved.

It sounds like a defect?

I was on v 9.5.2 something, and upgraded to 9.5.4d5 as a part of troubleshooting(which didn't solve the problem)
