I always have my left locator set to where I want the song to play (or record) from. So I think a more useful implementation of this would’ve been “return to left locator on stop”, like Cubase currently does. It’s still useful in its own way! But I’ll probably continue to use the left locator + numpad 1 technique.
Ha! Well done Props - this is a great update. You know - sometimes it's the simplest of things - like the new 'add device'....
I just spent a happy hour re-discovering some neglected instruments - simply because they were presented to me in a different way! Go figure why that made me so happy.....

Yea, i like the idea too. But i need to scroll a lot in that menu...So i still use the browser and the search function or my own categories/favorites.wireless wrote: ↑27 Sep 2018Ha! Reason12, Win10
While I welcome this update and am happy about all the workflow enhancements. This is quite a small point update. The marketing hype was a wee bit much, you'd think it was the second coming of the Messiah. Most other DAWs would have buried of this stuff somewhere in the release notes.

(returning the play cursor) make a new stop button (as in my attached file) and a new shortcut would not be better ?

I'm very happy with this update, I think Reason is going in the right direction, it may not be as fast as we would like, but the additions to features are nevertheless reflected in their implementation.
Now if there only was a search box in this menu, that would be brilliant!wireless wrote: ↑27 Sep 2018Ha! Well done Props - this is a great update. You know - sometimes it's the simplest of things - like the new 'add device'....

Are you genuinely clicking that stop button? or play? I always just hit Space Bar and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone... However, I agree it would be smarter to have Space Bar just continuing the playback and Shift + Space Bar going back.
Excellent new features except that tutorial tab.
I haven't read the whole thread but is it just me that finds the new tutorial tab completely useless. Is there an option to remove it ?
I understand it is useful for many users especially new ones but it also takes space without reason.
P.S.So excited about what comes next

Cool new update. I just played around with it a bit and every is dandy and fine.
your not alone I see no point in having it there permanently, hopefully all new user get to a point where they don't need to look up on everything they do.Makis wrote: ↑27 Sep 2018Excellent new features except that tutorial tab.

the return to start should be an option on the transporter like enabling loop button and not hidden away in the preference, there are times you might need it and other times where the stop is better. but there are some great things in here for sure

It also says in the release notes "New setting in Reason’s preferences for returning the play cursor to its last start position when stopping playback". I looked for ages in the manual over a year ago for the actual name of (what most daw's call the playhead) and was almost certain it's not called the Play Cursor, it's called the 'Song Position Marker' and the others are called the 'Left and RIght Locators'. A cursor is usually something used in programming that flashes on the screen.
On dictionary.com it says for cursor, "Digital Technology. a movable, sometimes blinking, symbol that indicates the position on a display screen where the next character entered from the keyboard will appear, or where user action is needed.". Just saying.

I love this new addition because it's what I was always used to from MPC60 and MPC 3000, Studio Vision and several other DAWS.
