I don't have a midi with a roller, all I have is a mouse, and it's really hit or miss when trying to change the db levels, never precise. Is there any way to edit the mixer level db to the number that you want without using the slider?

I'm quite sure you can't type precise values, I assume you're talking about the SSL? There's the old holding shift while moving the sliders trick as mentioned in similar posts. Also the mouse setting in preferences: 'very precise'.

The workaround would be to create automation lanes for the desired faders and adjust their static levels from the sequencer where you can type values.
:?: The question is - Who cares :?:

Which DOES work, but is often limited in resolution. They mostly seem to go between 0-127, which means we have 8-bit VCAs on out “analog” master fader!

Even my 1990’s console gives me 10-bit!
DAW: Reason 12

SAMPLERS: Akai MPC 2000, E-mu SP1200, E-Mu e5000Ultra, Ensoniq EPS 16+, Akai S950, Maschine

SYNTHS: Mostly classic Polysynths and more modern Monosynths. All are mostly food for my samplers!

?

The mixer automation for the fader gives a resolution of between 0 and 1000, which is as close as makes no difference 10 bit. If you automate the knobs on the channel EQ, that is standard MIDI 0-127 resolution, but the level faders are higher res.

Interesting. Thank you for the correction.
