Audio Driver autoselection

Ok...for a start I reckon this is more a Windows 10 problem than a Reason problem but it’s worth asking. Since upgrading to both Windows 10 and Reason 10 I need to go into options and re-select my Balance Driver for anything to work. I’ve disabled all other audio devices and set Balance to default. I know that Balance is no longer supported but just wondered if I’m missing some setting to have the Balance driver recognized at Windows start up. I can’t even play videos without selecting the driver first by opening Reason. Any ideas?
