The FabFilter Pro-MB allows for compression of specified frequency bands. I see there are some similar plug-ins for Reason such as the 4Dyne. One could also use parallel processing or home bake the bands using crossover techniques and then compress these bands individually.
But I thought I'd the community here. If you wanted to recreate what the Pro-MB does what strategy would you use?

Using the stereo splitter a few times in a combinator, pick your favorite VST or RE/stock compressor, and your good. I think there may even be multi-band compression presets for the master section.
You can do this in analog too. I’ve got an old Ashley stereo 4-way crossover that I’ve used to good effect on challenging sources.
