It's stories like these (and I'm glad you're up and running again!) that give me the willies about this whole authorization thing. I finally decided, after a recent upgrade left me unauthorized and needing to log in again every time, that I would just leave it that way. It seems like it takes no longer to "sign in" vs. to verify the PC is already authorized, and both are pretty quick. Not sure how accurate my reasoning is, but somehow it feels like it's less likely to be a problem down the road (system crash etc) if I just stick to the sign-in method.
