Hello everyone, first post here :D

So, I'm interested in this VST = http://feelyoursound.com/melodicflow

Roughly speaking, it's supposed to receive midi from a midi keyboard, remap the notes in a desired melodic scale, and output to one of Reasons device's. However I don't know how to route the midi signal through the VST and into one of Reason's synths. The developer has information about to setup in various applications here : http://www.feelyoursound.com/melodicflow-manual/#setup. But Reason isn't included. Anyone can help?

this is not possible if you are using VSTs inside Reason

but you can run the VST in a VST-host and use MIDI-loopback to access the MIDI output of the VST (or use Rewire instead)

That's a shame, thanks anyway Ahornberg.

You can't use midi VSTs in Reason right now, But Auto Theory (RE in the shop) does pretty much the same thing as Melodic Flow. You can also use the Scales and Chords player (included in Reason 9 and above) for similar results.

Hey,

I found a monophonic workaround to route Midi from a VST Midi Plugin to a Synth in Reason, to control it and did a tutorial about that subject.

For this I use another VST Plugin called Mux, from Mutools. This then works as a plugin Hoster inside Reason.

In this Tutorial I explain my method and you get my Patch as a download.

Hey Indiebackflip, thanks for the info, but the youtube video is not working. (it says it's private) What is the direct youtube link? Or what is the title on youtube so I can find it there hopefully? And could you give the download link to the patch here please also?
Thanks already very much - Johan

I've used Kushview Element and LoopMIDI to get MIDI from VSTs to Reason instruments. Both are free:

Our friend Carly can show you how to do it:
Players are to MIDI what synthesizers are to waveforms.
