I'm hoping this is again something I'm overlooking and not just another disappointing shortcoming of reason. What I wanna do is use scales & chords to play some chords that are a little difficult for me at the moment. I have it setup to play 7th chords but I don't want each chord to be a 7th. Is there anyway to add custom chords to this thing? Also is there a way to strum the notes at all? Any help would be appreciated.

Combine the device, select the scales and chords in the programmer, Find the source 'button 1', open it's corresponding Target and select 'No. of Notes', set Min to 3 and Max to 4.
When you press the button on the combinator the 7th chord will play and without it you just get a triad chord.
@pushedbutton on twitter, add me, send me a message, but don't try to sell me stuff cos I'm skint.
Using Reason since version 3 and still never finished a song.

A bit tedious but I guess it works for now

If you want the notes strummed, put an arpeggiator player after the scales and chords player. The built in options to adjust between scales isn't ideal, but if you're looking for that much control I would recommend the Autotheory RE https://shop.propellerheads.se/rack-ext ... utotheory/

Try automating the parameters on the device for variations of chords.

Thats exactly what I did but for some reason the automation isn't doing anything after I have played the chords already. As for autotheory I have that rack extension but even then there are still features missing from it. If autotheory had direct recording of notes to the sequencer like scales and chords it would be a no brainer. If scales and chords had custom chords or some sort of chord memory function like autotheory it would be usable for me. All in all it seems like props threw this in as a way to buy in to version 8 for 9 whichever it was...ill just have to do it the manual way for now.

Maybe http://feelyoursound.com/sundog/ is something you can try.

Actually, there's a workaround. See this PDF

It's a somewhat cumbersome. But once it's set up, you could save it with a song template and you're always set to go.
:?: The question is - Who cares :?:

Im familiar with this workaround but as you said its cumbersome. Thanks for chiming in but I've pretty much given up on using this device.

I use this technique for sending notes to track with Autotheory. http://roboticbean.com/creative/2016/05 ... -reason-9/

You may need to automate the parameters just before the next chord (the chord you want to be custom) plays.
