Reason 10 CRASHATHON on macOS High Sierra (beta 10.13.2)
So you're running a beta of 10.13.2?
What is crashing? When is it crashing? Hopefully you're reporting it?
I'm running 10.13 with no crashing.

I remember in the "olden days" when Windows updates used to brake things all of the time. Look at you Mac peeps keeping things retro!
jk - I'll see myself out, now.

This thread is about a “beta” release, not a “buggy” release…EnochLight wrote:I remember in the "olden days" when Windows updates used to brake things all of the time. Look at you Mac peeps keeping things retro!

Honestly, I rec never updating your OS unless there is some major known security fix or feature that you must have. There's security risk in updating it too. Most of all for us music software folks incompatibility issues are near certain.
Not saying you did, it coulda been new hardware with new OS. I'm just saying as a general statement if it helps someone.

If your not using Logic dont get a mac .......Ive leaned this. Unfortunatley i have to use logic cause it imports video. Tis wile fun rewiring to logic whilst playing video . Sometimes i get 3 bars but mostly only get 2. Somtimes i dont bother and just 'guess' the timing of audio cause its not worth it. Sharpens you up .....strewth
So my computer just prompted me about an update of 10.13.1. Is that one safe?
i'd say if it's working fine for you now it should be ok
mine was crashing badly on both 10.13.1 & 10.13.2
maybe it's to do with mobile graphics?
are you using a desktop?

Well, it's not that simple to answer. If the culprit is a newer display driver for more recent graphics cards, then owner of 2012 non-retina MacBooks (like me) cannot say for sure...
I have a mid-2012 15" non-retina with SSD and 16GB RAM and everything does fine with 10.13.1

I have a 5k iMac 27” maxed out and the latest beta reason was buggy with the sequencer cursor on playback stuttering. If I’m moving a cable in the rack or scrolling the rack .Low resolution mode stopped the problem but I never crashed once non retina macs don’t have any problems like the gentleman above said .If you have a retina version Mac desktop or notebook reason’s performance seems off in this latest beta . Reason doesn’t support hi def displays might be the culprit at least from my experience with this beta low resolution mode stopped the issue I’m waiting to hear from support
