The following is the reason why I bought the
Native Instruments KOMPLETE Audio 6 Audio USB unit
to connect to my music computer through a USB cable.

If you want high quality sound / audio coming out of your computer and you want to record and make high quality music on your computer you have to get a high quality - professional quality Audio unit for your computer. Truth.

The high quality Audio unit that is for your computer is connected to your computer through a USB plug on your computer. The high quality Audio unit will also come with Audio Driver software that allows your computer to generate high quality / professional quality sound.

You load that new Audio Driver software onto your computer. Check your computer "Control Panel" to see that the new Audio Driver was successfully installed on your computer and check that it is active.

Then when you plug that high quality - professional quality Audio unit into your computer's USB plug, the High Quality Audio Driver will now work with your High Quality Audio unit when you use it on your computer. When you plug your headphones into the new High Quality Audio unit's stereo headphone plug on the audio unit you will hear high quality audio coming out of your computer.

Without a High Quality Audio unit and the High Quality Audio Driver software that comes with the new audio unit, you will only be using the computer's regular audio driver to play the music and it will only be medium sounding - you will be able to hear it, but it will only be of medium quality.

Recording music in music software - the same thing applies but actually it is worse because the music you record and create using simply the regular computer audio driver your recorded music cannot reach the premium sound quality of a professional sound. It is like playing a DVD movie on a Black and White TV.

NOTE: When you are using a music making and recording software such as Reason 9.5, plug the Audio unit into the computer before you begin.

When you open or create a new music creation file - like in Reason 9.5, you go to the EDIT / Preferences and select the Audio tab on the preferences and SELECT the new AUDIO DRIVER for the new AUDIO UNIT. It will show you that it was successfully selected.

Now, you will be editing, hearing and recording your music / audio at the High Quality / Professional Quality of your new Audio Unit and new Audio Driver.
