I am running reason 8, and I am in the process of transferring my reason essentials 2 license to a friend of mine.
I would like to be able to work together with him, initially he will be adding percussion to my tracks.
I appreciate that the file formats are incompatible , however, if I sent him a .wav file, and told him the BPM, could he then put on his percussion, and send it back to me, enabling me to extract his percussion, and put it onto my original track ?

It's better if he records the percussion into a separate wav file.
He imports your wav, records on another track, exports just his track while muting everything except his parts.
He sends you the wav, then you import that into reason.

You can't really "extract" an instrument from a wav file, its just encoded audio, left and right track.

Try adding a lead in click so you can easily sync the imported wav with your tracks.
