I'm talking about I can navigate the rack with my cursors from my macbook. And I'm pretty sure with 7 when I selected a device it got MIDI focus ... but I could be wrong.
I'm about to through my macbook out of the window. I'm really tired of using my mouse to click to get MIDI from my MIDI keyboard. Its one of these days where I want to forget again, that I have to use my mouse over and over again, instead of just typing in the number to select a value or navigating the rack...
Any ideas?

If you navigate the Seq. using the cursors it does change the midi focus (but not in the Rack)...
Get a Panorama and you can be very hands off.

Options -> Additional Remote override -> Target Next/previous Track
In this way will follow the sequencer selection also when you are in the rack or mixer view
If you don't want change this option every time, you can create a .reason template file or edit the .remote file for your MIDI controller.
This is from a custom remote map i've made for my Vestax VCM-600

Code: Select all
Scope Propellerheads Reason Document
Define Group Keyboard Shortcut Variations TrackSelect
// Control Surface Item Key Remotable Item Scale Mode
Map left Target Previous Track
Map right Target Next Track
