Turn off audition in piano roll?

Every time I click/shift a midi event, I hear a note play and it disrupts the pattern playing. How do you turn this off in Reason 9?

Don't think that's possible yet. personally I like it on by default but yep you'll need rewire for extra features when it comes to composing.
[Like presonus/steinberg/Imageline]

Yep. Every 3-4 years reason gets a worthy upgrade though.

In Preferences, turn off "trigger notes while editing"
