Reason/Mac help required!

Hi all,
I've got a couple of problems with Reason and my iMac:

Problem 1.
Reason song files no longer show the Reason icon [see pic]. Been using Reason since V1 and never come across this before.

The old .rns song file shows the Reason icon okay but not .reason files. Actually any Reason file I make doesn't show the icon e.g. combi patches, rex patches, kong etc..

Problem 2.
When opening Reason songs or even just using the browser in Reason, it takes forever. I tried to create a new folder in the browser pane and it took literally over 5mins (spinning beach ball included)

Anyone any clues as to what's happening here?

What version of Mac OS are you running? I had some some issues when I updated my laptop to Sierra and ended up going back to El Capitan.

I'm still on Mavericks mate.
Don't think it's an OS thing though. I'm running Mavericks on my laptop too - no issuses there.

I feel like I had that problem when I was running different versions of Reason on the same machine. Right click on the .reason file and go to properties. Set Reason as the default program to open a .reason file. I think that might work. I'm on a PC right now and won't have access to my mac until I get home from work.

Quickest way is to install it again it takes a minute. Just make sure you don`t have anything in the Reason App folder that doesen`t belong there such as Refills or song files.

I had that. You gotta write some commands in terminal. Worked for me.

FlowerSoldier; I tried the the properties thing...no joy!
I'll try the reinstall Ticker01, see if that sorts things...failing that I'll give the terminal command thing a try cheers Plaamook.

Before you replied I was starting to think I was the only Reason user with the prob...so that kinda gave me hope.
