"And much more" could mean anything. But nothing substantial I'm sure. R9 is a few new devices, abandonment on Neptune.. Pitch mode is basically their way of jumping ship on another failed PH endeavor, which is typical, and color themes.
Is that really an upgrade? What happened to all the "regular point updates"?
From 8.3 to 9? Really? I think 9 should really be 8.4 free update but we all know how money hungry PH has become giving so little for so much these days.

Still Ctrl+Shift (I guess because using the wheel is reserved for scrolling if the height of the content is greater than the window height). But it feels like a video game, very natural.Wook wrote:Do we still have to hold Ctrl+Shift or just point the mouse and scroll back and forth?WongoTheSane wrote:Zoom to mouse is a godsend.
I thought so. Still, a worthy and welcome improvement. Zooming in on random stuff was driving me up the wall. Thanks, Wongo.WongoTheSane wrote:Still Ctrl+Shift (I guess because using the wheel is reserved for scrolling if the height of the content is greater than the window height). I said elsewhere that I couldn't get too excited about R9, but having a simple note-to-track workaround is going to be pretty cool. Not sure it's $129 worth of cool, but pretty cool

In what way is it an abandonment of Neptune? Just because both can be used to alter pitch performance doesn't mean one is being abandoned. That's like saying when they created Thor, it's because they were abandoning Subtractor. They're both still there, they just do different things in different ways. Sometimes you don't want or need everything in Thor, and sometimes the relative simplicity of Subtractor isn't enough.Last Alternative wrote:R9 is a few new devices, abandonment on Neptune.. I'll still be reaching for Neptune for creative purposes. The vocal synth feature alone is amazing. If anything, I think the two will probably complement one another beautifully. I'll be able to do my natural-sounding pitch correction in the sequencer, and use the resulting track to run through Neptune's voice synth; and it will sound even cleaner.

Because Neptune needs work to get rid of such terrible artifacts and latency but they ignored all that.

The artifacts can be "terrible" to you and I (most of the time I do much prefer natural pitch correction), but that doesn't mean they're not exactly what someone else is looking for. Now we have both options.Last Alternative wrote:Because Neptune needs work to get rid of such terrible artifacts and latency but they ignored all that.

What? no one else is excited about this? Pretty earth shattering to me! You know how annoying it is to half to right click and menu dive to create a mix channel? I don't think I'm on the fence anymore. I'm officially sold!selig wrote:Another minor improvement is the key command for "new Mix Channel" - not earth shattering, but super handy for many folks.
