"...And much more" (R9 speculation)
At the end of the announcement video, after they mention all the big ticket workflow enhancement stuff, they say "and much more". Any thoughts on what those additional items might be? I couldn't imagine them putting automation curves or markers in an announcement like this ("holy cow, there's going to be markers!" - I mean, the internet would break, right? haha); but what if they're also addressing some of these more minor enhancements?
Really can't wait for the full list of changes, and the beta...

Smaller improvements
You can now reverse note and automation clips (or selections of notes / automation points).
When reversing notes, the result depends on the "Reverse notes graphically" setting in the
Tool window!
The Razor tool can now be used to split notes.
Zooming with the scrollwheel will now center on the mouse pointer position.
The left pane in all Edit Modes now shows the color of the edited track, for navigation help.
The Drop functionality has been updated to Drop to Allihoopa.
The previous "Your Profile" function has been replaced by "Your Products", directing you to
your list of owned products and Rack Extensions on www.propellerheads.se
That makes sense. I got my beta invite a bit ago, but won't have an opportunity to crack it open until probably tomorrow. This is my first beta. Do they always include all of the final features in the beta? I saw that they want us to test a very specific set of stuff (the big ticket items) in the beta threads.lowpryo wrote:since there are already people with the beta and the manual, and we haven't heard anyone rave about new features that aren't in the announcement, I'm guessing the "more" is incredibly minor or hidden under the hood.

Only the new Soundbank isn't there yet, maybe because the patches need to be re-saved in a release candidate version.guitfnky wrote:That makes sense. Yes, except the new patches bank isn't included in the first betas yet, but it should be soon. Everything else works, including whatever REs you have in your account.guitfnky wrote:Do they always include all of the final features in the beta? Zoom to mouse is a godsend.
Gotcha, thanks, Exo+Wongo!
What is Zoom to mouse?
What is Zoom to mouse?
Omg yes! That is excellent... That was always one of those minor annoyances I never thought about until I was actually doing it, and then all of a sudden I'm looking at something else.tibah wrote:Basically:guitfnky wrote:What is Zoom to mouse?Zooming with the scrollwheel will now center on the mouse pointer position.
in the Reason 7 announcement they didn't mentioned the audiomatic RE .It simply appears with Reason 7 in the shop. And it was pretty nice [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]guitfnky wrote:At the end of the announcement video, after they mention all the big ticket workflow enhancement stuff, they say "and much more". I said it before, but R9 has 2 kind of features for me.
First, you have these kind of interconnect features that are all based around doing something from nothing. Hum into your mic, turn it into MIDI, build chords from that or some arpeggios.
Then there is this huge part of minor things like reverse automation, bounce in place, features like the zoom to mouse or how you can switch between edit modes now.
AND then there are 1000 new sounds to get you going.
Combine all of these and it's very hard to not like this upgrade.
That's something I hadn't thought of. I sort of "got" that the two things could be related, but when I thought of audio to MIDI, I pictured myself using it to translate guitar parts to something else, and when I thought of the new player modules, I pictured myself shittily playing keyboard and it still spitting out something cool. I didn't picture translating guitar parts into something else and then having the player modules spit out something cool from that.tibah wrote:you have these kind of interconnect features that are all based around doing something from nothing. That is going to be fun to mess around with....
Very true. It was easy for me to miss the forest for the trees, I guess, since they finally implemented the one thing I've wanted for the past few years. It's like "YES!!! THEY'VE FINALLY DONE IT!!! Oh, and here's a bunch of other bonus cool stuff too. Anyway, THEY'VE FINALLY DONE IT!!!" hahatibah wrote:Of course you can use all of these new features independently, but I like to think there is a "theme" for Reason 9, rather than PH throwing shit on the wall to see what sticks.
no they didnt. not in the very first one.Gorgon wrote:Yes they did.lemec wrote: in the Reason 7 announcement they didn't mentioned the audiomatic RE .It simply appears with Reason 7 in the shop. And it was pretty nice [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

hahaha! In-sequencer pitch-editing. That makes Reason a complete all-in-one solution for me. Everything from here on out is just diamond-encrusted gravy rainbows, or something.tibah wrote:Which one? Zoom to mouse?
