Kong: whether a cymbal or snare or anything, when you put a Kong filter on HP, the sample volume gets so loud you have to turn it way down.

What settings? On a kick, snare and hats it gets much quieter here. There IS a chance the HP will make things slightly hotter in special cases, but only by a few dB.
