Stop me if everybody in the whole world but me knows this already... but....
I have fought with my Soundcloud uploads for months. I just wasn't getting back what I put in mix-wise.
Today, I think I found the answer. If you run your final mix output all the way up to zero (just before clipping), a compression within Soundclown itself kicks in really hard. Pretty much ruining everything with very noticeable pumping
This is especially true if you work in a more orchestral mode like I do. Big ouch on sustained strings and such. And of course an out buss maximizer holding everything at zero aggravates all this.
Good news, it only takes about a 3db drop from zero on the output fader to avoid this.
Just sayin' for new guys and gals.
