Can I record automation to several instruments at once?

Ok, so I' mapped volume 0 and 127 for three instruments to an on/off button on my midi controller (via automation override), so they each have their own button. This works in playback just fine.

But even though I have record enabled all three tracks, only automation for the instrument i have selected will appear as automation while recording and using the three assigned on off buttons.

BTW I'm doing this to keep my effect tails when muting, so muting at the mixer is not what I am looking for.

Do you have this button enabled on every track you want parameter automation recorded ?
