A lot of songs in many genres have this rhythmic pattern pattern that is usually played by an open hi hat (it also can be played by other percussive instruments, synths, etc.) on every other 8th note, or if you where counting in 16ths (like redrum's sequencer) it would be on the 3, 7, 11, and 15th note. Causing a head bobbing, pushing foward-ness to track.
I was just wondering does this have a formal or informal name? Kind of like how a kick played on every beat (quarter note) is known as "4 to the floor."
Thanks.
Hi Hat Pattern Name?
Isn't it called like split peas or something like that
EDIT pea soup
EDIT2 nah that's just some drummer shit not the upbeat hats so synonymous with dance music my bad
