Beginner Redrum Question

in my drum patch i am assembling from different samples, how can i set the "open hi hat" to link with the "closed hi hat" sample so they play like a real hi hat and cancel eachother out?

Use Kong.

Use channel 8 & 9, and make sure the little button in the lower left corner is lit up that reads "channel 8&9 exclusive" or something along those lines
