Sieger Hexa-core laptop for Reason??

I'm thinking of investing a few grand in a 6 core laptop for Reason and was hoping for a little advise.

Will 32gb of RAM make any noticeable difference, or would my Reason experience be the same if it were 16gb. I plan on going with the i7-4930K processor instead of the i7-4960X; is the i7-4960X worth the extra $450?

Do you think this laptop will let me do things like use 20 instances of Antidote and 10 instances of Softube's TSAR on a project with the lowest buffer setting possible with ease if I wanted?

Or should I go for this Mythlogic 15" build that would be considerably thinner, but only has a quad-core processor (Desktop processor too though)? It'd save me a bit of $.

A gigantic laptop... Why even bother? You can get A LOT of desktop for 2 grand.

it really depends on how much he's traveling I would say. You pay twice as much for the portability of a laptop so if you can get a desktop you will not have any problems running whatever you want.

Yeah, I definitely need it to be in laptop form even if it is unwieldy. I'm pretty sure I want a laptop that can utilize a desktop processor. Just trying to figure out how much more performance a hexa-core Ivy Bridge processor (i7-4930K 3.9Ghz) will give me compared to a quad-core Haswell processor (i7-4790K 4.40GHz).

I have a 3.4 ghz i7 3rd gen with 12gb of RAM and I have never been able to get Reason to start slowing down, even at a buffer of 256 , even though I have a crappy soundcard which will start crackling a bit so I usually go with 512. I am not stacking tsar's or anything, but you really only need two of those. I use a lot of Antidote and now Parsec, and I am not seeing any issues. I'd say if you got anything better than what I have you will be in the clear for a while (like 6 or 7 years). I have heard complaints about browsing for samples, so if you are using those you may want to get 16gb of RAM or even 32 if it won't hurt your bank too badly. A wise man once said "the more, the better!"

That looks like a monster tank of a lappy! I'm sure you have your reasons for going in that direction so looks like it will handle anything you can throw at it in the reason park. Just make certain you get a really nice big fast SSD drive with it  You'll thank me later! SSD is just crazy awesome. 

@"wait for" : That's great, but it will always be that way and it's not likely that it will be lappy available at first. I'm sure it will be a kick-ass chip though!

Just as a "benchmark" for what I do/have and performance with reason 8.2. I've got a desktop with a 4770 (3.5gh?) 16GB of ram and run at 44.1/128 buffer with a saffire 14 FW card and it's flawless. Some other hosts DO NOT run really well at those specs, so knowing reason is a bit more efficient will help. If you have SSD/at least 8 GB of ram and and reasonably newer chip, you should in theory be golden.

I don't know, but I'm thinking that they would be very close in Reason performance at stock speeds. But, I'd go i7 4930K, which can be overclocked to more than 4GHz, that would probably give an 20% advantage over that XEON.

PS. If you're getting a laptop, than I don't think it will be as easy to overclock.
