Hi,
dilemma time this end. I have an opportunity to grab either for very little outlay (secondhand) and was wondering what your opinions were on Reason integration. I had considered the Nektar P1 and P4 previously - as recommended here - but am now ruminating over these. Portability is key, and price.

Cheers

EDIT: Forgot to add that it will used in a live set-up

The Akai is probably physically stronger (general consensus) but I recall people seem to have some set-up hassles. I had a Launchkey for about a month and physically it was ok but some Remote setup was wack (keys didn't play in Reason but did elsewhere). Novation acknowledged but I didn't see a fix coming so I bailed. If it were fixed I would own again.

I think you have to decide this one as both will do their job adequately.

Hi Benedict,
thanks once again for your advice. I'm leaning toward the Akai now for that same reason (sturdiness) - I'll be bashing this thing around. If I get a good deal today, I'd like to grab both.

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a P4 as well -- MOTORISED faders, enough said ;D

Cheers
