it seems as if Props are still working on stuff (the shop!?!) - maybe they'll revamp the blog in the coming weeks.

edit: finding bugs here and there on their new page

1) the blog in the footer is not correctly linked (tweeted that already)

2) look at this (reloading did not help)
Image

they should not have rushed this

all in all, the propellerheads website lost its appeal to me, right now, it looks like any other marketing site and without the forum, I won't frequent it often

If you mean Discovering Reason, it's still in the blog. Here's a tag: https://www.propellerheads.se/blog/tag/ ... ing-reason

thanks for helping us with the transition!

I can see the vision behind discover, but it is not easy to adapt :) give me some time and please try to get the mobile tools on Android systems as well!

No that is not what i ment. I ment a pretty old (i think for reason 5) tutorial series called reason explained. It was kind of hidden on the page.
It were pretty detailed and good tutorials about reason handling and devices.
I think there were 15 pages about thor alone.
It would be a pretty big loss of knowledge if all of this is gone.

I remember those - the old Gordon Reid series?

I think the biggest screwup in this whole process (aside from the fact that it was rushed), is the fact that there was zero communication as to which forums and what content was going bye bye. So we were left in the dark the whole time. Just a "this place is closing" message.

pfffft!

Right, it seems as if the props lost there connection and interest to their yearlong users. Too bad, we will see where this is developing into...

But one good thing: this new forum is nice!

People tend to dislike change. I'm still not sure what I think about the website changes. It's almost too simple now.

What I kind of understand is closing the PUF. I used to read the PUF 3 to 7 times a week. That started going down I would say about 6 months after RE's were introduced. Not 100% sure what it was, but I did notice the tone was off and it was harder to find things that were useful to me. In the past year I stopped in maybe 2 or 3 times.

As long as Reason stays rock solid in performance and Props stay true to delivering a great value I'll continue to support them.

Also check out the link in my post above. Those Reason technique articles were the first thing I read back when I subscribed to SOS.

Also Gordon Reid's Synth Secrets,

God bless the intertubes.

Thanks. I downloaded whole Tutorials section with SiteSucker week ago. New site has blog/tutorials section, but "view all" option doesn't work - I mean, doesn't collapse tutorials list.

It's dumbed down for kids now. The ads make people think it's so easy to make music. It's really not. At all. So in turn I feel that the very market target PH is gunning for will quickly realize this and quickly lose interest. Don't confuse my outlook to wishing the whole thing implode, however though. I honestly hope and pray this endeavor will fund and convince PH to get real again with Reason and DAW competition/innovation or what have you.

You used SiteSucker to save stuff last week! You kept that quiet mate ;)

Yeah I noticed that about the "view all" option on the blog page, bit anoying  :x

Glad to still have the tutorial links in some form though eh, thanks to "web archive.org" and your SiteSucker thing...

Haven't looked at Allihoopa thoroughly yet but, is it still no stems or reason files?

It really needs (as did Discover) to be stems or a Reason file so you can build things up better. If someone has an 8 or 16 bar loop of bass and drums (kick, snare, claps) then how can you properly progress the song 'cause you might want to drop the clap out and/or the bass in parts eh? ok, adding would be ok, but to take an element out, bit more tricky.

Also, you might hear that the kick needs sidechaining against the bass so they don't clash in the frequency range and/or eq or compress parts. The original creator might not be that knowledgeable in those respects yet so you/they could learn so much by collaborating this way.

This has been the main reason (excuse the pun) I haven't dropped anything yet.

The tutorials are under the blog section now. Here's the 40 part series mentioned earlier: https://www.propellerheads.se/blog/disc ... 5438365601 * edit * Sorry didn't see Mattias already answered this!

I have a feeling these changes, including recent changes in Reason, were not aimed at kids so to speak, but more aimed at newbies faced with the question of which DAW to choose. Reason with its cabling system I imagine looks daunting compared to other DAWs with their drop down menus. The new drag and drop system when shown on intro videos made it out to be a very simple process to add a drum machine or a sampler, cables weren't and didn't even need to be mentioned. It's not just a hunch, I have noticed comments from noobs all over the place with an "I just want it to go" attitude. I think Props needed to make Reason appear more user friendly and specifically more noob friendly. It sucks for us already past this point, as we have to wait for the software and the company to bend to the wants of noobs, as noobs are the future. I hope it works out too, lucky Reason is as powerful as it is or this snail pace period would be even more painful.
