Yep this is a great way to look at it. They are lumping in a bundle deal disguised as an upgrade 'path' . Its just more dubious marketing tactics.Luxuria wrote: ↑27 Aug 2019I'm not sure why a lot of people are so confused? I wonder if the marketing team is intentionally trying to trip people up.
Reason Suite is just like any other bundle deal guys. It's exactly the same as the Rigs bundles.
Just because it's tied in as a Reason upgrade path doesn't change anything. Phead Marketing getting sleazy since bundles on the shop page weren't getting enough attention the decided to promote them during a major release.
It's 15 old devices that you can get on the shop for full price or half price during sales and 1 new RE device that will be sold separately outside the Suite bundle at $99 and most likely see the spotlight in "deal of the week" for 50% off eventually.
Whatever your upgrade path is now will have no impact on Reason 12's pricing in the future.
Since Mattias said that Suite is an "as is" deal, there likely won't be a discount from Suite 11 to Suite 12 if there even is one.
Reason Suite Upgrade Questions
well, you said specifically, v10 and below. I’m obviously not talking about that scenario, since I said v11 Standard to Suite.QVprod wrote: ↑27 Aug 2019That’s what I answered. The $250 price includes the upgrade from a previous version. That would be dumb to be the same price, just like the price from Intro and previously Essentials to the full version was a lesser price than buying it new. No one currently has 11 so they don’t have a need to list what an 11 Standard to suite upgrade price would be just yet. Personally, I doubt it will be $250
so my takeaway is that what you’re saying is you *didn’t* answer it because you couldn’t answer it, because no one knows yet. one example: “I doubt” is a phrase that gets used when one doesn’t have an exact answer.
anyhoo, it doesn’t matter much right now—I agree with you there, but it’s only a month away. it’s something they’re going to need to figure out pretty soon, but they’ve still got time.
Anyone who purchases Reason 10 today automatically has Reason 11. There is then no upgrade path for those folks to Reason 11 Suite.QVprod wrote: ↑27 Aug 2019That’s what I answered. Well, seems I was right. The upgrade path isn’t $250 just as expected. It simply doesn’t exist.selig wrote: ↑28 Aug 2019Anyone who purchases Reason 10 today automatically has Reason 11. There is then no upgrade path for those folks to Reason 11 Suite.QVprod wrote: ↑27 Aug 2019

Why won't they let us pre order though? I don't want to wait until the 25th to buy the suite.
At the risk of sounding too sceptic (not necessarily my intent): money.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑28 Aug 2019Why won't they let us pre order though? I don't want to wait until the 25th to buy the suite.
Right now the only way of grabbing the gear is to spend money on it, around 2k total (I have this from a "reliable source" ), after which you get to use your goodies right away. Or you postpone purchase (and work?), wait around a month and then enjoy the discount.
If the Props would apply this now there's a huge potential of losing out on big(er) sales.

Yepp that is true! But its a damn good bundle for me who has none of the rack extensionsfretshot7 wrote: ↑27 Aug 2019Yep this is a great way to look at it. Because that would be tricky technically and lawfully as it's not completed yet....PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑28 Aug 2019Why won't they let us pre order though? I don't want to wait until the 25th to buy the suite.

What isn't completed yet? If you mean Reason 11, then That makes no sense since we can buy the upgrade now.rudiarii wrote: ↑28 Aug 2019Because that would be tricky technically and lawfully as it's not completed yet....PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑28 Aug 2019Why won't they let us pre order though? Well... if someone who's unaware of the Suite version (it is a little buried on the Props website) buys 2 RE's at the cost of E 99,- each then that would be a decently big sale. Something they might miss out on if you could pre-order and unlock the RE's right now.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑28 Aug 2019A bigger sale between now and launch date?ShelLuser wrote: ↑28 Aug 2019

Of course this is pure speculation.

The suite is the same r11 plus rack extensions... Only one of which isn't released yet.rudiarii wrote: ↑28 Aug 2019I'm talking about the suite.....PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑28 Aug 2019

Can I upgrade directly from Reason Intro/Reason Lite to Reason Suite?
No, but you can upgrade your Reason Intro or Reason Lite license directly to Reason 11 and then, if you want, upgrade Reason 11 to Reason 11 Suite
I can't see why this "upgrade Reason 11 to Reason 11 Suite" would be restricted for customers that have come from the "Intro/Lite" path.
This is something I'd like to have cleared up from an official source.
Will the Suite work as a way to get (some of) the official RE:s and players released since the last upgrade?
Will Suite content be upgraded "mid version" at all, say, if a new Reason Studios RE is released?
Does it work like a subscription - meaning, if I downgrade from Suite to normal when Reason 12 comes out, will I lose the extra content I paid for?
As it stands, Suite is a very good deal for most.
But it would be very good to know these things before we make the commitment.

Hehe. They are only worth that if you want them all and if you value each one at those prices. If you only want a couple of them you might be better off waiting for the inevitable sale.
The VST world is full of "Was £89, now £15" type offers.
pluginboutique is probably the most ridiculous for that stuff.

wow, that’s pretty disappointing. so if you’re on the fence about going with the Suite, you’re better off not upgrading to 11 at all until you’ve made a firm decision.

I wonder how many have upgraded to 10 and were going to upgrade to the Suite as they thought the cost would be nearier the difference...
