Someone had the guts to say it out loud

Wait – you're suggesting that even with the sound engine off it still sounds shit, just less so now?!?
That's probably what I would have done too. If they don't appeal to the youngest generation they are potentially missing out on a huge new market.
I was refering juvenile as kindergarden stuff, even when I was 20 years old, looking for a daw, having a statement like "Sound Less Sh*t" would not have been appealing. I thinks there's a minimum of professionalism you expect with a major company, but what the heck, nothing to loose sleep over, if Reason Studios are happy with it, so be it.selig wrote: ↑12 Dec 2024That's probably what I would have done too. There are probably not a lot of us old geezers left that don't already know about Reason, so why target ads to us?
I think it's likely very smart of them to make stuff folks my age call "lame".

I said my age a million times. : D
We'll see what the future brings. I also get arrythmia, weird >140 / <60 rates (too high and too low), pulse going down to 40. It's just a mess.
Best of luck with your life, man!RobC wrote: ↑13 Dec 2024We'll see what the future brings. I also get arrythmia, weird >140 / <60 rates (too high and too low), pulse going down to 40. It's just a mess.
I was born half-dead, so I'm happy to live as long as I will.
As for strengtheners... : D Gotta stay away from man's best friend (beer, wine, champagne, etc.) : )
Thanks, I guess x DPhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑13 Dec 2024Best of luck with your life, man!RobC wrote: ↑13 Dec 2024

Sure thing broRobC wrote: ↑13 Dec 2024Thanks, I guess x D
But what makes me sound like 60? : D
In other places, people mistook me for a teen or twentier for being all cheerful and playful.
Not acting 34 is kind of worrying. : D But then again, the 30's are a transitioning age towards the boring serious adult.
And then the 60s will be the second childhood! x D (Depending on my heart, lol. - Hey, that Hawking guy lived super long, too!)
Then again, I'm also rambly, I get nerdy, and can be eccentric. So my age can be a mystery.
Okay, it's probably my wisdom, experience and genius. Right? RIGHT?
If you want to sound corporate, by all means speak “professionally”.mind2069 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2024I was refering juvenile as kindergarden stuff, even when I was 20 years old, looking for a daw, having a statement like "Sound Less Sh*t" would not have been appealing. But I still have a suggestion for them for their next campaign "Sounds less pipi caca gaga googoo"
Perhaps "sound like you" ended up sounding like shit. So this is the next logical step of the progression.
I doubt any music maker would get enthusiastic with something in the line of "sounf less shit", I has nothing to do with corporate/artist.selig wrote: ↑14 Dec 2024If you want to sound corporate, by all means speak “professionally”.mind2069 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2024

If you want to sell music products, speak like music makers.
It’s like saying one needs to wear a suit to be taken seriously. Not in the music world for some time now…

I know some will defend Reason whatever crappy shit they do.joeyluck wrote: ↑15 Dec 2024I see it as just being relatable and something people say. I don't see it as a comparison to other DAWs.
"How can I make my vocals sound less shit?" is something I hear people ask.
Me seeing an ad claiming Reason can help you make hit songs or sound less shit is pretty much all the same to me, but the latter is fun and maybe more relatable.
I still think they should follow it up with my idea for a CRAPRE No.2 ad to "sound more shit"![]()
Yeah you can write a song with any DAW, you can make a hit with any DAW, you can "sound like you" with any DAW... Some people will read way too far into things no matter what. I just like Reason for what it is and the ads don't affect me.mind2069 wrote: ↑15 Dec 2024I know some will defend Reason whatever crappy shit they do.joeyluck wrote: ↑15 Dec 2024I see it as just being relatable and something people say. If your vocal sounds less shit it's because you know how to use EQ, compression, deesser, reverb, delay, chorus, doubling/panning and many more techniques and most of all, a good recording and vocal performance with proper autotune if needed, it has nothing to do with Reason.
Of course, Reason contains most of these tools but most daws also do. Most use a multitude of external VST's
As I said, I like the reason workflow, I love the combinator and it wont change anything, I just think it's a stupid statement to be made regarding a DAW.
