How to get back the original file when it is overwritten

Hello, I accidentally oversaved a file on an already completed original file. Unfortunately, the overwritten file was important to me. Is there any way to get the original files back or do I have to redo everything? Thank

Restore it from your backup drive or try some undelete tool (like Recuva or photorec).

reason offerors nothing to help with this situation "other than not implementing auto-save"

you should always make a copy of you're project ie. #1 backup. #2version numbers for save-as / never save. #3 recovery from time machine etc...


please please please don't implement auto save
but git style save's and push to main would be great

I'm not sure if this will work but if your on Windows, you can try a system restore to a previous date.
