Hello,
I'm working with Reason studio 12 but every time I use fabfilter Q3 as my EQ, especially because it has the feature that you can solo each frequency and listen to it seperately.
Is there an useful EQ like fabfilter in Reason? Or do you have a suggestion?
Because if every time I open fabfilter for each of my tracks, the CPU will go crazyyyy.
Thanks.

RP EQ has that functionality to solo the bands. I got it specifically for that. It has some more options that makes it a great surgical EQ.

Rob Papen has sales quite often, if you want to get it cheap. In comparison with Fabfilter it's not expensive anyways

Thanks, but I want something which is built in Reason Studio. Therefore, it will use less CPU.crimsonwarlock wrote: ↑13 Aug 2023RP EQ has that functionality to solo the bands. I got it specifically for that. It has some more options that makes it a great surgical EQ.

If it is a rack extension, even built by RS, it’s the same technology used by everyone.Mohammadyarahmad wrote: ↑13 Aug 2023Thanks, but I want something which is built in Reason Studio. Try it out (30 day free trial) and measure the CPU impact on your machine?Mohammadyarahmad wrote: ↑13 Aug 2023Thanks, but I want something which is built in Reason Studio. Obviously you don't mind VST's, so I would suggest a different vst eq, that's not as hard on your cpu as Q3. My suggestion would be Brainworx digital_V3. Sure it has some limitations, but it sounds great(meaning, no color and minimal phase issues) and it's so cheap in relation to what you get. Currently it's only 34bucks. https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/prod ... al_v3.html

Never noticed that Q3 is a CPU hog. I think you have the FFT display settings just to high, your graphics card is bad, buffer size too small, power settings wrong, too many instances of Q3 opened or your computer is just too old.
A different EQ, build in our not, won't help you.

I want to point out how cool it is that the developer of another EQ RE shows up to clarify the equal footing of a competitor.selig wrote: ↑13 Aug 2023If it is a rack extension, even built by RS, it’s the same technology used by everyone.Mohammadyarahmad wrote: ↑13 Aug 2023Thanks, but I want something which is built in Reason Studio. …which is also good at surgical cuts and soloing control points and that sort of thing. Plus per-control-point saturation.
That said, I also like the RP EQ. I think I got it first, before I understood the virtues of per-control-point saturation. I like RP's support for mid/side and its cute shortcut for mono-izing low frequencies, though these days I use Ozone to do similar things because it makes my ears happier.
One thing I have not seen in any of the popular RE EQs is an obvious interface for dynamic EQ of the sort found in FabFilter Pro-Q. From a marketing perspective, I find that… perplexing. In a current project, I'm using a Neutron EQ preset for removing boxiness, and the simplicity and "non-destructiveness" of it is pretty great, but it bothers me that I must resort to VST for this.

Yes, Reason stock EQ is dated, by a lot. Despite this I still use it pretty much on every track and bring up Q3 when I need that extra push over the cliff.

Yeah, and I even have two of those.crimsonwarlock wrote: ↑16 Aug 2023There is this one https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack ... omega-deq/integerpoet wrote: ↑15 Aug 2023One thing I have not seen in any of the popular RE EQs is an obvious interface for dynamic EQ of the sort found in FabFilter Pro-Q. But it's nice to have a single EQ which does all the things with a single set of controls.
What I did with Neutron the other day was choose the preset for removing boxiness and then embellish it to yield a single curve.
Well, not exactly a single curve because it morphs over time, but you know what I'm getting at.
This might just be OCD on my part because I know people chain EQs with abandon, but the customer is always right, right?

Yeah, I get that. It's a workflow thing, whatever works for youintegerpoet wrote: ↑16 Aug 2023But it's nice to have a single EQ which does all the things with a single set of controls.

I'm at the other end of the workflow spectrum, using specific tools for specific things. I use mainly DEQ for controlling things, RPEQ for surgical stuff, and several program EQs for coloration.
