I kind of doubt it, but it sure would be a new experience.
virtual reason
Would this work with Reason one day, when the inevitable bugs in version 1 or 2 of this device are worked out pricy device

Yeah, it's a comedy price even for Apple and, no doubt, an advance in the technology but they haven't solved the fundamental barrier to VR - the goggles. The Apple goggles are much smaller and lighter than other VR headsets but you are still wearing chunky ski goggles for hours on end. Also, that bit of wire you can see in the video goes to a battery pack - not very convenient.
Not sure what VR would add to Reason but it would be interesting to try.

It is very intresting. But it is a long road to good augmented reality for toolss like Reason

Yeah, very pricey. But in a world today - a lot of people afford it. 1% of 7.9 billion people are 790,000 people. And then we have a lot of people who are in the next 20% of the "richest". Apple will continue to cash in. But it will be long until this will be available for Reason I think. I'm still happy with my mouse!

I haven't watched the video, but if someone could make a midi module for unity(the game engine), it would be a piece of cake to make an Android VR midi controller (I've made Android VR games previously, but left it, because its just too straining to the eyes and keeping your headset on for long hours is just not a good idea)

Novelty junk to feed the constant churn of new shit to buy . VR demos are as lame now as they were 20 or 30 years ago.
of that 1 % maybe 1-10% would buy just because they can, then never use it, of the 20% it's also a small portion that will buy, This is like the trend of the fridget spinner, but for the super rich.arnigretar wrote: ↑11 Jun 2023Yeah, very pricey. Yes it would work, it was stated in the keynote that you can look a mac and it would take over the mac screen and you can use the mouse, but imagine mixing with your eyes instead of a mouse it's hard enough to make tiny changes with a mouse.

Yeah of course only 1% of the super rich will most likely buy it. And 1% of the other rich. But Apple will still cash in That's a lot of cash. And most likely the cost isn't so high in production. Just to be clear: i don't like apple. Haha..but just pointing out that even though a product is pricey a lot of people will buy it. And not even for the simple fact that there are so many people in the western world that even take loans to buy new products.

Even more supportive of your point, 1% of 7.9 billion people is actually 79 million people.
No haptic feedback under your fingers.

Exactly, just use hardware to make music... physical controls, haptic feedback, responsive...nothing beats that...but there's one reason you'd want to use VR...space constraints...but then a daw with proper support for midi controllers can suffice in that case.
I want to see Reason and the rack in VR. Perfect for it. I even made a little meme of Minority Report/Reason here a while back, but impossible to track that down with the search function I don't remember the topic.

Even w haptic gloves you’ve still got the same old touch screen problems. Still need a keyboard, mouse, what have you. The only gain could be loads of screens I guess.

If you want to spend 3 and a half grand on a synth, why buy goggles? There are actual synths you could buy instead.
Friend of mine is freaking out over the midi controller potential as this whole thing develops.
I can see his point but I'm unlikely to get my money's worth even with that.
If I had 3.5k to blow I'd get a new forkin computer, screw the freaky shades
