This idea deserves elevation up and out of this thread in some way.Jackjackdaw wrote: ↑20 Oct 2022I … have ctrl room out wired to the sampling input in my starter template.
Best way to flatten a Kong pad?

Oh wow. I'm with Selig on this.. cant believe I never thought of this great idea. Nice one!Jackjackdaw wrote: ↑20 Oct 2022I don’t even use a spider, just have ctrl room out wired to the sampling input in my starter template.
All these years I've been running a more complicated than necessay spider solution into the sample input.
Fun fact, you can still use Send 8 for sampling (or any send for that matter) with this approach simply by selecting it in the Control Room Out section!challism wrote: ↑25 Oct 2022Oh wow. Other advantages: you can adjust the sampling level, you can sample just the FX returns, you can sample anything you hear from one channel to the entire mix without any further patching/routing including sounds in the browser (sample from a .wav file without loading it) or live inputs including from streaming sources if your sound card allows it.

Hello
Thanks for this, works perfect in R11!
In the latest version of R12, not so good. Both versions running on an Intel Mac
I've tried it with the Spider and the control room techniques.
When I record anything playing in Reason 12, the recorded audio is pitched 1 note down. I recorded with mimic, redrum, kong and grain from different instruments. Using players, playing chords and notes, always with the same result. When I play the recorded audio, it's pitched down.
Weird thing, when I press edit after recording, the audio plays correctly, but once I press save and play the sample in the instrument, it doesn't.
When I try the same setup in R11 it works perfect, immediately.
Also, there's something similar happening with previewing rex loops in R12. The loop that runs in the rack is pitched higher than the same loop in the browser. In this case a guitar loop "AcGt_Mute_A_120.rx2" played in the rack at 120 bpm.
Tried the same in R11, works correctly.
I hope/suppose I'm missing something obvious. Maybe a changed setting I've missed?
Thanks in advance!

Hahaha yes that's it!!
many thanks, really! I thought I was going crazy
Apparently it was set at -72. Don't know how or when that happened
I only just tested it with loading a sample from the browser, will test it with internal sampling now
Very much appreciated
