When reason crashes and i press reopen why doesnt it open where the song left off?
In stead i get an empty project and all my work is evaporated.

Am i missing something? Why does Reason provide a button for reopening the song, while it doesn't

Where is this button? I haven't heard of it before. I save songs and projects early in the process just in case. Thanks

Recently I was working on a song from on my fairly new 5TB Seagate external SSD when all the sudden Reason crashed and it said my external was ejected. But I didn’t eject or even bump the cord. When I reopened Reason all my work from over 3 hours was gone. The song still opened but still it really frustrated me and my computer was brand new at the time. It’s only a few months old now in fact. And I have another Reason file song it says is corrupted when I try to open it. Seriously sux..

Yeah Reason doesn't have any sort of automatic save function, so you've gotta keep remembering to mash CTRL S. I've had some sessions just go *pooof* out of existence without even an error notification or report after dropping a VST in the rack. Not fun.

Anyone who grew up with computers in the eighties and nineties knows that hitting ctrl-s is similar to breating... you do it constantly or things go horribly wrong :puf_bigsmile:

The reopen feature is part of MacOS, not Reason.

ok, the year is 2023. AI can bake up medicine, music and art, understand mathematics way beyond the capacity of humans, but some crash protection is too much to ask.

grew up in the 90's and 00's so used to smash the ctrl save.
this is nice, but still it leaves for a lot of risk losing important work.
