Changing Reason 12 Theme from Dark to Default Messes Up Reason Badly

Wow.... just wow. Today I decided to change my Reason 12 (version 12.2.5d138) to the light coloured theme for a change... and here's what happened:
1) Some disabled plugins became re-enabled, and some enabled plugins became disabled. A lot of them in fact. It took a lot of time going through them to fix this.
2) Many VSTs lost automatic logins, and some VSTs which have a limit to the number of seats no longer worked in Reason. I had to contact a few vendors to get the seats back.
3) Screenshots of VST instruments are now pixelated in both the sidebar as well as on the VST rack instrument itself. They look absolutely awful, despite the fact that all the Reason instruments, effects etc are all in high res. I set the zoom to 180% just to make sure.
Anyone else have something like this happen? I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but I quit Reason+ on April 3rd. I certainly didn't expect this insane set of circumstances to occur. Is there anything I can do to reset some kind of VST screenshot cache or something?
EDIT: System Specs:
Mac mini M1
16 GB RAM
1TB HD
MacOs Monterey 12.3.1

Bloody hell. That's bad.
What OS are you on?
Absolutely contact them/file a report so they get on this.
Doesn't sound like you'd be interested in trying to recreate it (I wouldn't) but it needs addressing somehow.

You're right I have refrained from changing any of my other computers. Ah yes, I've updated my original post with system specs:

Thanks for the heads up after such a travesty. Looks a terrible read, I'd be so pissed.
Interesting that you recently quit R12+.. I'm then prompted to think, is there some left over artefacts from the subscription service.!?
I hope you get the help you deserve and please let us know the outcome, thank you.

I'm not upgrading to R12 anytime soon it looks like. I know RS are working hard on sorting out bugs and that's good. But we're 7 months in after R12s release and I'm still hearing too many people reporting bugs or things going wrong. It's not a good look for the company and it really has damaged my view of RS regarding releasing stable software.
They do a lot of good stuff too, but I really hope they change their approach in the future when it comes to their upgrade releases.
Good luck man. I feel your pain.

What does this mean, did you just switch to Default Theme in the Preferences, and all this happened?StephenHutchinson wrote: ↑12 Apr 2022Wow.... just wow. Today I decided to change my Reason 12 (version 12.2.5d138) to the light coloured theme for a change...
Anyone else here had this happen?
In Reason's Manage Plugins window, did the VSTs switch from enabled to disabled?
Which plugins were affected?
Would be great if you sent us a proper bug ticket from our beta section, but you have to sign up to the current beta program to get access:

In your bug ticket, please write down the steps to reproduce.
Attach any screenshots, that you might have.
Thanks
I highly doubt that the theme switch really did this. To me it sounds more like some kind of hardware or OS issue.

Thanks Arpeg, most appreciated. I'm not really sure why it happened but loui from Reason Studios as posted on this thread about me detailing and entry in the Reason beta forum, so I will do so.Arpeg wrote: ↑12 Apr 2022Thanks for the heads up after such a travesty. I totally understand. I do like some of the new features of Reason 12 and I know things will eventually get worked out. I've had a reasonably (haha) stable time of it the past year and looking forward to a time when it will all run smoothly again.TritoneAddiction wrote: ↑12 Apr 2022I'm not upgrading to R12 anytime soon it looks like. Hi loui, thanks for jumping in on this post, and I will submit a proper bug ticket in the Reason Studios beta section and give a more detailed description there. Just to answer some of your questions here...loui wrote: ↑13 Apr 2022What does this mean, did you just switch to Default Theme in the Preferences, and all this happened?StephenHutchinson wrote: ↑12 Apr 2022Wow.... just wow. - When I switched to the default theme in the preferences, when I went down the list of instruments and effects, there were VSTs which had no screenshots on them. This caught my attention because I have screenshots on every VST except one (Glitch2) because it somehow won't take a screenshot of the GUI. Anyhow, these VSTs without screenshots were also the ones that were supposed to be hidden.
For the ones that got hidden, I had to search with a different computer side by side to see which ones were now hidden. A lot of work to be sure. There were a lot of plugins, but I didn't keep track of which ones were which, even though I had to login to some of the ones that were hidden after I re-enabled them.
At the time I didn't screenshot anything.

I had a closer look on my PC, and you're right... I guess I never really noticed. I keep my zoom level at 120 because I'm using a 1440p screen. Also, the dark background may have played a part in not seeing the crappy VST resolution before.

So today I reverted back to the dark theme, and checked all the VST Plugins, and everything went swimmingly well this time. I will still report the bug to Loui in detail but that will most likely be tomorrow (Monday April 18th).
