I am actually a bit annoyed about the current and persisting state of R12.

R12 is a bit like Jaws 4,

dubbed the most serious of the franchise but turns out to be the biggest joke with a story full of holes

Gives new meaning to the phrase "jumped the shark".

No, nothing's been announced; it was just me cynically guessing what they'll do come 'Reason 13' time

12.2.4 killed my Reason Rack Plugin in Ableton Live 11.1 so I reverted back to 12.2.1 and it's back with a shiny window...

You're right to be concerned I can't remember the last time that the known reported bugs got fixed before they asked us for more cash and then you find out the bugs are still not fixed......

And remember that some of these bugs got reported during the initial beta and they just launched knowing that it wasn't even close to being ready.

When I drag an effect from the browser to the rack or sequencer, Reason freezes. It happens a lot now since this update and the software just hangs there....sometimes for 40secs or more. Then eventually it unfreezes. But this happens a lot and make it difficult to use. I'm on windows 10 with a fast machine. Is this a known issue and is there a workaround for now?

It’s not an option to go back as I’m halfway through a beat. I’ll report a bug then. Seems odd that it’s only happening to me

If you're only on the beat (and just halfway through it) it sounds like you haven't got round to the bass, keys or melody parts yet. Therefore it should be easy; just export your MIDI lane and save your drum rack device patch and then import and recreate your drum beat within a new Reason 11 project. After that you can do the rest of the track there
