I just launched my early access Reason 12 …… download available. C’mon!!
I have been beta testing version 12 for some weeks now. Seems that everythings works fine. But I have to say I am not excited at all. After I checked the last version I decided that I won’t upgrade to version 12. Why? There is nothing in it for me that would justify spending 129 €. Okay the search function is much better and convenient and that fancy HD resolution is nice, too. But that's nothing I need in my daily production work. The new combinator is a nice idea, too. But I didn't use the old one since I have been working more with VSTs. The new sampler doesn't bring anything new to me either. Working with Battery, Kontakt and the wonderful TAL sampler - so I am really fed up with possibilities. To me it feels like since RS (Propellerheads back then) opened up the VST gate all I ever wanted was some workflow improvements. They keep on coming, but in a very slow manner. Content? I am so fed up with the content. I am producing content myself, so I will still be waiting for colours and most of the stuff mentioned [url]I have been beta testing version 12 for some weeks now. I pretty much never used Combinator 1. Combinator 2 is a seriously useful, well executed tool. I'm building a library of common tools and effects that previously I was dragging in manually every time, with custom panels and it's making me use devices in ways I wouldn't have previously. This update is alllll about Combi 2 for me.
I agree. A very useful update.chimp_spanner wrote: ↑01 Sep 2021I pretty much never used Combinator 1. Combinator 2 is a seriously useful, well executed tool. Only woke up 20 minutes ago (9am U.K time and 10am Swedish time) and it's downloading. Will there be any new feature's for the actual daw or is it just the Combinator update and key detect in Mimic that's taking so long? lol!

That's it, I'm switching to Cubase after 13 years with Reason. What a lackluster update once again. I love Reason to death but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone starting out. The future isn't looking bright. Need something that I can trust and that puts DAW first.

According to the blog post above, more hi Res assets are to come (sequencer probably). No details on when yet.
Also there is a separate favourites list to download with all the new combinator patches
