Today I invite you to count your soft synths. REs or VSTs but discounting free plugins. So only ones you’ve actually bought. Once you’ve done that you can ask yourself the eternal question again...you know what it is :)
So...how many to you have?

Please whatever you do though, don’t ask me to do the same with my guitars :).

Countless, but most of them are small reward, maybe after an hard week of job or when I reach some targets, as a guitar player perspective plugins are inexpensive :-)

Roughly 50 as I may have forgotten one or two. A good number of them came in bundles.
...And the answer to the “eternal question” is no. Really.

No GAS here - just bought the 9 NE modules - what with stock & free I'm pretty much covered.

Which one's the smug emoji? ;)

One simply has to ask onesself, Am I part of the problem, or part of the solution.
We're giving you a hard pass, Mr Figg.

Not really sure what to do with that...or indeed how to make sense of it. But thanks. Always a pleasure.

27 that I paid for.
I'm including the 9 NE synths in that. But in my head they all belong together. Anytime I reach for a NE synth, I reach for one randomly. They all look the same to me, so I haven't learned which one is which. And I'll never be able to learn those names.
I also counted the ones included in the R11 Suite, crap like the Layers synths that I never use.

12 that I have paid for.

And those 12 together were WAAAAY cheaper than the 5 hardware synths I have. But the hardware synths get used way more often.

I've got a bit of "sticktuitness". Last week I spent 8 hours in Ye Old Rehearsal Space laying down a few drumkit tracks for an ex bandmember in need. Say what U want, I still retain a small shred of human dignity. Of course I could be fooling myself...

Someone else can count them... this took too long to list :o :(  yikes... not counting 1000's of refills ,free racks, VST and what came with reason suite 11 .... Live 10 suite... and Logic( my new controller Controller Arturia KeyLab Essential 61 and the sounds with that need to be included) >>> The damage is as follows... Some that I bought eventually became free in various ways.... Really do not think I need to get much more but the cv pad thingy from enlightened sound looks fun... I refuse to add up the damage to my pocketbook( and the many reason upgrades from adapted 2,5) TOO MUCH TO LEARN LOL>>>>>Racks as follows...hmmm... some seem missing in the orders list... there are even more it appears

---------------- yes I lost my mind( everyone knew that anyway lol)( might have missed a few) and also did not count the ones I got through beta testing.... hundreds of reward points for nothing I don't have or want... It is going to have to be a game changer device to make me buy anymore... even then... if I learn what I have by 2040 I'll be doing great  I was afraid to look... for good "reason"
Matthas... please let me use my reward points in one go !!!!!!!!! ( and add some new stuff to the reward page while your at it ... for those of us that supported "the Company" from the start) I started with rebirth ! I might even go for Pop Guitars IF all reward points could be utilized instead of 50 bucks at a time ! I refuse to pay the price 50 bucks off gives me for the rare event I might use that rack, since I started music with guitar and taught it back in the day.

Mmm, I count 34. Without the Arturia ones, it would be 12. Very little has been added this year, it looks like I'm plateau-ing

I try to test any synth before I buy and that has save me countless times of an impulse buy. Part of my testing is to compare it to synths I already own which lets me rediscover and appreciate them.

I have around 35 synths in reason not counting the ones that come with reason and I'0m also not counting duplicates between Re's and VST's (for example some stuff i had as Re's that got again as VST from Rob Papen Explorer 5).

It's a lot of stuff, I spend too much time "curating" patches and so on, plenty of time choosing sounds. From these I paid about half of them because some were offered when testing them.

Now if i told you what I have in Effects VST's, samples, and so on... :/

I guess I did include the Synth Rig, NE bundle 2 and Rob Papen explorer5. So not soooo many individual purchases. I did forget Virtual CZ though which I’m still happy about buying.
